With a national reputation for preparing superb seafood, La Pigua is a popular place for connoisseurs of fine seafood. The owner of La Pigua does not buy frozen fish, she deals directly with the fishermen and buys fresh catches of the day. When something is in season, she will buy some quantity and freeze it herself so she can be assured of the quality. She does not mess around when it comes to her seafood!

Creators of Coco Shrimp, now copied by many, their menu has a wide selection of varied seafood that honestly makes it hard to choose. Their signature dish, coco shrimp, is large shrimp breaded in ground coconut and attractively served in a halved coconut with a delicious chutney. The crab stuffed fish fillet in a gentle x-catic sauce (photo) is an attractive satisfying light meal. If crab claws are your fancy, La Pigua is the answer with large, fresh claws. Stuffed crepes are another choice you will want to try.

At the moment one of the house specialties is Piguas al Gusto, a sweet water shrimp. Finish your meal with coconut ice cream and we promise you will think you have died and gone to heaven.

Reservations highly recommended. If you are in Mexico City by the Plaza de la Republica you will find La Pigua there also. And, yes, the fine quality is present in all three restaurants.
