7th annual MEL chilli cookoff

Merida English Library is holding its 7th Annual Chili Cook-off with several new twists this year. Twist number one is the fact that it will be held on a Sunday (March 18th); twist number two, is that it will be held in the closed-off street in front of the library – kind of like a great big block party; and twist number three, it will include a antique bazaar along with a garage sale. Sure sounds like fun.
The antique bazaar and garage sale will begin at 10 AM. The chili cook-off contest will begin at 1 PM when many volunteer cooks will compete for the title of the best Chili con Carne.

This popular library fund-raiser is a hit with both locals and foreigners. Tickets cost $100 pesos for adults and $50 pesos for children and can be bought at the library or at the door on Sunday, March 18th.
Mark your calendar off for this date, check out and buy the antiques and garage sale items, sample and vote on the chili con carne and support your library.
Calle 53 No. 524 between 66 and 68.
