MEL-O NITES
The Merida English Library (MEL) has a once a month social get together - MEL-O nites - the 3rd Friday of each month 7:30–10:30 PM. Held at the library this is a great time to meet new people, see friends, patronize the library and see all the wonderful books. Cash bar and free snacks. Snack donation welcome.
DAY OF THE DEAD RITUAL
Hacienda Chichen will hold U JANAL
PIXAN - a traditional Mayan Day of the Dead ritual at sunset on Nov. 1st. Our guests and visitors may participate and honor their departed beloved ones in the ceremony. To participate, register by Oct. 27th giving the pertinent info on your departed one - name, their likes in food and drink in life, photographs, etc, These items will be placed on the candle lit, flower adorned Mayan altar. Canadian Denis Lafoy hosts cash bar cocktails the first Friday of each month. People at these get togethers are a mixed variety of the ex-pat community, locals and other people that just want to get together with old friends and new.
