English Church services start December 2 in Progreso and will continue through the
winter months. Service is at 8:30 am and all denominations are welcome. The church, Presbyterian Iglesia Jesus, is located on the corner of Calle 35 and Calle 80. Traveling from Merida to Progreso cross over the Telchac highway (passing Aurora Bodega supermarket on the right). Just in time for the holidays Galeria Merida's next exhibition is scheduled for December 8, in its new location calle 59
#452A x 54 y 52 in Mejorada. The exhibition features 26 prominate painters exhibiting paintings in small format and reasonably priced. The current exhibition evolution colectiva will continue through November. The Open Gallery continues its Saturday night program of experimental
art and jazz on the patio. Music begins at 9:00PM. Galeria Merida is offering courses in english and Spanish by master
teachers in Photoshop, sculpture; stone and wood, beginning digital photography and elements of drawing.

LA LUZ GALERIA DE ARTE
In Dec ‘06 La Luz Galería opened its doors with the successful show Habana-Mérida Flight with Cuban artists: Agustín Bejarano, Rigoberto Mena, Carlos Quintana and Roberto Diago. In the Oct 15 - Nov 14 edition of Yucatan Today, and in the online version, in the article The Spanish Yucatec El Español Yucateco by Yurina Fernandez, we incorrectly edited her article saying that Gonzalo Gue-rrero married La Malinche. This is not true. He married and had children, producing the first mestizos, but not with La Malinche.
